At 4,800 years old, the oldest living thing on earth,

the Bristlecone Pine Tree offers a lesson in growing by;

“Simply Being.”

*

You would think that a living entity like the Bristlecone pine spanning almost 5,000 years would have been carefully tended to, loved, cared for in every possible way, enjoying the most perfect controlled nurturing and pampered environment.

*

But on the contrary, the Bristlecone pine tree lives in some of the harshest, and least life friendly environments on earth.

*

These Bristlecone Pine trees live at high altitudes between 9,800 and 11,000 feet above sea level, and date back 1,000 years earlier than the next known species of tree.

*

Many lessons can be learned from our aged friends as they may be one of the most tenacious life forms surviving some of the harshest of conditions in nature “without even trying.”

*

Living in altitudes of 11,000 feet, rooted deep into solid limestone, the Bristlecone pine has no soil for nutrition or to hold water. Strewn across barren mountains and exposed to annual extreme environments of ice, snow, wind, storms, arid heat and wood boring insects, how do these trees survive? Nutrients for the Bristlecone pine tree are meagerly derived from the minerals in limestone. Over thousands of year the limestone erodes, barring its roots to the harsh elements. Additional food is realized through reabsorbing dying parts of its own wooden flesh, preserving a store of long standing nutrients and moisture. Then, with rain water quickly washing by its roots, the Bristlecone pine must instead breathe in moisture from the air through its branches and leaves, quenching a long and regular thirst.

*

So often people struggle in life feeding their physical body, spiritual self and in staying focused on the path of truth and freedom for themselves. The Bristlecone pine offers us its secrets to thriving against all odds.

*

Consider living at higher altitudes like the Bristlecone pine tree. Raise your consciousness through an effortless connection to Divine Source (God as you know her). By meditation, prayer or simply quiet moments with yourself allowing the Energy that is Everything to flow freely through every atom of your being. Let love and light flow through you and from you to all you encounter spreading kindness, peace and joy.

*

Like the Bristlecone pine feed yourself physically that which is necessary. Excessive absorption of “food and other things” does not bring health and longevity. Absorb deeply the nutrients of the soul. Feed yourself with Mother Nature’s Divine food of spirit. Consume the vibrant, cosmic energy of all living things.

*

When thirsty, be not thirsty only of water, nor thirsty of Ego satisfying ventures, but also of the resonant moisture of life, absorbing the spiritual essence from within the Energy that is Everything, available each moment through every pore of your body.

*

Even in the harshest of environments and all types of weather, like the Bristlecone pine, be free of concern for the storms in your life. It doesn’t matter what others might think. Avoid gossip and dodge negative activities and behaviors of others. When chaos, swirls around you with storms of challenging situations, stay focused, stay on the path that is truth for you and know that you will endure.  Just like a storm will always end, so will discord in your life. Mother Nature’s hand will always reinstate harmony.

*

Rather than looking for someone or something on the outside to fill you up, to feed you and quench your thirst, know that like the Bristlecone pine who feeds itslef without even trying, you have within you, all you need to be loved, to experience joy, peace and harmony. Always.

*

Be grateful for all that you have had, grateful for what you have now, and grateful for what lies ahead.

*

The tenacious nature of the Bristlecone pine under the harshest conditions also shows us that with the most extreme odds, we can not only survive, but thrive!

*

Unlike the Bristlecone pine, you have choices, options and opportunities to achieve your highest goals and greatest objectives.

*

What are you waiting for?

*

Be Inspired!

*Live Life’s Joy!
