What Can You Live Without?

“Man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can do without.”
– Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
*
Is it really the economy that has so many people out of work, financially stressed, loosing homes, loosing investments, having families regrouping under the same roof, or merging together in an effort to be viable?
*
Or maybe it is mother nature’s way of reminding us of what’s important.
*
Just like a Tsunami, an earthquake, or hurricane that might destroy a city moving people to work lovingly together, creating families that come reunite, communities that regroup, and a cities that are renewed in really big ways. Current economic events are simply another cycle in mother nature’s bag of rejuvenating maneuvers.
*
The Dalai Lama recently said that the economic condition is a cleansing that will show people what is important.
*
There is nothing wrong with having money, desires and things. That is what creates our journey, our adventure. But these things are not what is important.
*
What is important is having a journey. A journey that includes self-growth, spiritual growth, and one that is about love, and the joy of what you create and manifest within that adventure as it relates to yourself and others around you.
*
Why be attached to stuff?
*
With this in mind, rather than dwell in places of anger, fear, doubt, and worry, choose to function from a perspetive of joy, love, peace and harmony?
*
I know it doesn’t sound so simple for many in this economy, but let us look at it from a different perspective.
*
In order to return to that place of joy in everything you do, it is important to know where you stand in this moment. Be able to acknowledge where you are. Results show that it is exactly where you are supposed to be right now. It does not mean this is where you will stay. Accept the reality of your current situation.
*
More than a billion people in the world don’t have access to drinkable water and another almost 3 billion people with access to water don’t have it near their home. They spend most of their day, collecting water. Two billion, six hundred thousand people don’t have adequate sanitation. More than a third of the world’s population continue to cook with wood, coal or dung. The worlds wealthiest 20% consumes 76% of the worlds resources while the poorest 10% of the world consumes less than 0.5% of resources. A quarter of humanity lives without electricity, and a billion people today don’t know how to read. These are just a few statistics. They don’t take into account, the world population that has no food, is sick, has no place to sleep, and may not one family member or friend to be with.
*
In order to readjust your perspective, take some time each day in quiet, meditation or prayer. Be grateful for all that you have had in your life. Be grateful for what you have now. I promise if you look honestly, you have plenty to be grateful for in this very moment. In every moment. The mere fact that you are reading this on a computer or in a book, says that you have more to be grateful for than about eighty percent of the world’s population. Then, be grateful for what lies ahead!
*
We have the ability to create opportunities and to receive the assistance that might come our way to manifest our goals, objectives and dreams. We have options and choices. What more could you ask for?
*
Know that current situations you might dislike will not remain as they are.
*
Sometimes having trouble accepting the way things are is simply a function of the Ego disguised as fear, worry and doubt. Wondering what others might think about what you have or don’t have, what you have had or will have… Remember, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. It’s your life, not theirs! Live your life and no one else’s. Do you have food in your refrigerator, a roof over your head, change in your pocket and one friend? Most people on the planet don’t.
*
If you are carrying “feelings” of wanting things to be different than they are, you will have trouble being clear of negative influences that get in the way of you creating prosperity, abundance and manifesting what it is you really desire (without attachment to ego or outcome). Don’t allow “feelings” to interfere with your clear intentions. They are not some sort of immovable solid object. Feelings are energies that can be released. Practice letting go of any thoughts and feelings that interfere with joy, peace, harmony and creating what you desire in life.
*
It is from this place of non-ego, free of negative “thoughts and feelings” where you will find the launching point to create new opportunities, to re-invent yourself, to reestablish the abundance and prosperity that you desire and deserve. Avoid getting caught up in the big picture of what was, what it might take to achieve your desires or what the future may hold. Instead, take it one step at a time. Do whatever it takes to create and manifest all that you dream.
*
No dwelling on the past. No dwelling on the future.
*
Step by step. Be patient. One task at a time. Do not stop. Before you know it, you will be looking back overwhelmed with all you have accomplished.
*
Always remember what is important in life and be grateful.

Why All This Life Polarity?

We often hear that “opposites attract.” Fact is, opposites are what hold the physical dimension together. The earth is positioned on a polar axis, planets are kept in place by forces of gravity and motion, the solar system doesn’t collapse on itself because of polarity, and people are attracted to one another or repelled (in part) as a result of polarity and opposites.
*
Polarity is essentially the glue in the bio-mechanics of physical matter.
*
The universe has been expanding since the big bang. This expansion is taking place at just the right speed to prevent gravity from pulling all the planets back to a single point and collapsing the universe. If there was no gravity, all the planets would then expand so quickly away from each other that the sun would shoot off into space and earth would freeze. Without the force of expansion of the planets, gravity would pull all the planets back together and the universe would collapse in on itself and create yet another Big Bang (there have been so many I lost count). The counter force between celestial expansion and the force of gravity is what creates balance in the universes.
*
From macroscopic cosmos to the microcosm of the quantum universe, each molecule in our body exhibits the same polar forces holding them together as is present in the interstellar reaches of outer space. Each physical atom not only in the human body but of all physical matter contains positive and negative charged elements. Positrons, electrons and neutrons create the balance that holds a single atomic molecule together.
*
There can never be only one force in nature. With only positive or only negative ions in the atom, there would be no molecule. It would lack stability and just vanish. No matter how thin a magnet is sliced, it will always display two forces, one positive and one negative. The universe depends on the duality of polarity.
*
Opposing forces exist in every physical event. These forces of opposite have been described and defined as physical laws by scientist, philosopher and physicists for ages. In Newton’s Third Law of Motion he states “To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction: or the forces of two bodies on each other are always equal and are directed in opposite directions.”
*
Positive and negative, yin and yang, ebb and flow of the ocean tides, light and dark, sun and clouds, sadness and joy, easy and hard, nice and angry, without one, there wouldn’t be the other.
*
You can feel polarity in relation to people you meet. There are times when standing near another human being, you feel an attraction or pull towards them, a positive energy, while standing near others there is a sense of negativity and feel repulsion. Each of us has an electromagnetic field radiating from us in all directions, effecting everyone and everything we encounter. Notice the positive or negative polarity you project out to others and how you feel the reverberation of someone else’s energy. Embrace that knowledge as it relates to all positive or negative events in your life. What type of electromagnetic energy are you emitting?
*
Embrace the polarity of life. Know that each component is necessary for any life experience. Learn from events that appear inharmonious, love the life events that bring joy, embrace the opportunity in every event, every life change, ride the wave of mother nature in her polar vibration, in her wave of opposites.
*
Some religious texts have proposed the concept that negative life events, pain, displeasure and challenges of all sorts being simply a reminder of our human-ness, and that in our true nature as spiritual beings no polarity, pain or discord exists. Polarity is a reminder of sorts that being connected to spirit is the most important and most natural place for us to reside. That each physical incarnation is temporary while “who we are” is eternal and free of polarity. The human experience is one of spontaneous, expansive growth, learning, and creativity. It is a choice for another adventure in individual growth of the unique spiritual extension of and from Divine Source that we are.
*
Differences between people, disagreements, challenges in relationships, life challenges, heartache and life discord are all part of the polar balance in nature, and in life as we understand.
*
Which is the chicken, which is the egg? What came first, action or reaction, positive or negative? It doesn’t matter, they are both the same. They are both necessary, they are both part of the fabric of continuity within the physical universe.
*
As Ram Dass said at a retreat last year on Maui, “…without Judas, there would be no story.” Polarity is what is necessary to have a story, a life journey and adventure. Otherwise we may as well skip the adventure, no more incarnations and stay in spirit solely or in some plane of reality that is monotonously uniform. That is okay too, but we choose Life! Let us live to our fullest even through all the polarity that comes our way.
*
No matter what you are experiencing, there will always be an opposite. That is the make up of nature. If you have experienced extreme pleasure, then you have most probably experienced extreme pain. With an experience of only mild challenge or mild pain, your ability to experience more than mild pleasure or success will be limited. Ultimately, they are both the same. Joy and sadness, pain and pleasure, life and death, positive and negative. All have to be present, all ultimately live in balance and harmony.
*
Let it be okay that you don’t always agree with someone. It is okay that there are differences in relationships, that two people don’t always like all the same things. There will be varying degrees of challenges in life and relationships. Some people like minimal change, small challenges and successes in the polarity of life, while others enjoy huge swings in the currents of life. That’s what makes life so interesting.
*
Polarity is a necessary component for life.
*
Whenever you are experiencing pain, upset, chaos, discord, anguish, sadness, know that it always means joy, love pleasure, life, peace and harmony are just around the corner. Mother Nature will always return everything to harmonium.
*
And more good news:
*
Who “We Are” is not dependent on properties of physical laws. Physical laws only apply to physical matter. Science has no understanding nor tools that can formulate laws that are outside the physical realm. Who “We Are” as eternal spiritual being of energy, as unique extensions from within Divine Source (god as you know him) do not follow the principles and laws of physical matter. Physical laws apply to our physical incarnation and experience on this planet and in this universe only. There are realms of existence that are so indescribable in terms of human understanding and communication. Physical laws are highly limited in what they can describe.
*
Further, we have the ability to transcend the laws of matter and physics in meditation, prayer, dreams, and by simply staying connected within and functioning from the Energy that is Everything, our Divine origin. Living from the truth of who we are within Divine Source and as a unique extension from Source, we can rise above any upset of our physical experience.
*
And, just because there are equal and opposite amounts of polarity in the universe, it doesn’t mean that we all experience an equal amount of polarity. Some people choose to live life with greater amounts of negativity, challenge and chaos, while others choose to live in greater volumes of the positive, in love, peace, harmony and joy! That is part of natures balance.
*
We can choose the weighted side of polarity we wish to live in.
*
Embrace the positive side of polarity. Manifest your Dreams,
*
Choose to Live Life’s Joy!

“Path To Enlightenment!”

I recently read this Alan Watts passage where he says: “You see, suddenly you don’t NEED to have some special performance put on for you, to convince you, that you’re where its at, where IT is at. You don’t need trumpets and angels”
*
So it got me thinking:
*
What is Walking the path to God, to Divine Spirit, that Energy that is Everything (God as you know her)? There just seems to be so many choices, so many options to be connected to Spirit.
*
Seeking Divine Source, most people typically attach themselves to a church, temple, mosque, or Nature, following humanly designed writings, rituals, rules and procedures in an effort to become enlightened and find God. Rituals are able to bring one closer to that place of our origin, to be One with Divine Source.
*
Which path one takes is not so important as all paths are leading to the same place. It is important that commitment and devotion are exercised. No matter what path we follow, or which Spiritual Leaders we listen to, and no matter how many days, hours or years we spend seeking the light,
*
We will always “be on a Path.”
*
Being lead down a path, will always keep you “on a path…” Not a bad one, but the problem is you will “never arrive.” You will never reach that ever illusive and ultimate spiritual goal you are seeking. It will be an interesting and beautiful, and eternal trek down “the path.”
*
You see, that path will always ultimately loop back around to Ourselves. It is only from within ourselves and through our unique connection to and extension from our eternal origin, that we are One with Everything, with Every-Thing. Always.
*
Rather than being a monotonous phonograph, spewing repetitive passages from books, let those writings be the source for stimulating, in silence our own unique creative lively perspective and understanding of where we come from and who we are. Only you know your own personal truth. Just because someone can recite every word of a spiritual book, doesn’t mean they understand or know the meaning.
*
What were the books, and who were the teachers for Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna, and other enlightened beings. It is the same lessons and teachers that I learn from. Rather than following an enlightened leader verbatim through the dilute, regulated and reorganized books written by man, why not instead act as, emulate and be as those enlightened leaders have been?
*
Having a community to worship with, and a support system in so many ways is highly important for mankind. It is a place of community for the congregation of family, friends and those in need of physical help and spiritual stimulation. A church, temple or mosque is where rituals for tapping into Divine Source might be learned and initiated. But the “business” of religion can easily get in the way of Spirituality.
*
Whatever your path might be, in the quite of meditation, where we become effused within the Energy that is Everything, we know that there is nothing else but the One Energy. We are the Oneness, the I Am, the un-namable, the indescribable. There are no words that could possibly illustrate the omnipresent energy including you and I. Every person, every plant, animal and grain of dust; There is no separation. We are never alone. We are always one.
*
The endless climb of the spiritual ladder will always lead back to yourself, your own Godly piece of the Energy that is Everything.
*
Divine source, is every-thing. To seek a path to God is to self actualize, self realize, to remember the umbilical cord that attaches everyone to everything.
*
In reality, there is no path to Divine Source. You are already Divine Source, you are a unique bit of the Energy that is Every-thing that is, Always.
*
It’s an inside job. Worship the divine from within.
*
Become enlightened to the godliness and good-liness of all. You’re already there, it is you, and every-thing else all at the same time.
*
But wait! I think I hear trumpets and angels! Always!

Love Is!

“Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within of every hand.”
– Mother Theresa
*
Love, that constant dynamic flow of omniscient and omnipresent energy,
Borne of the Divine Energy that is Everything,
Expanding into and through each cell of every life form,
Bursting from within, a Big Bang with the ability to generate universes,
Embracing and filling ones inner self with all that is needed, Always,
A flow of Divine Energy,
An endless river of Love coursing to us and through us,
A gift from that place of our origin for continuous giving and sharing with all,
Love is all things,
Love is all there is,
Love is within reach of every hand,
